# RailRoute

> RailRoute is an independent journey planner for intercity travel in India. It searches trains, flights and combinations as one journey. It does not sell tickets, takes no payment, and is not affiliated with Indian Railways or IRCTC.

## What RailRoute does

One search can return:

- direct trains between two places on a date
- two-train journeys with one change, with the wait shown in minutes
- mixed train-and-flight trips
- other ordinary IRCTC tickets when the through train is waitlisted (a split, an earlier or later station, a nearby terminal)

## How to read a number on this site

- **Times** — scheduled times, not delay forecasts.
- **Seat availability** — a snapshot from the moment of a search. Confirm it at IRCTC. Not shown on train, station or route pages.
- **Fares** — rail fares are estimates; air fares are the lowest observed for that date, not a quote. The amount that counts is the one at checkout.
- RailRoute is not a booking channel. The traveller books on IRCTC or with the airline.
- Train names and station codes are used for identification only.
