A train that is waitlisted for your whole journey may still have seats on part of it. Search your trip and RailRoute looks for those tickets — what many people call a split ticket or a break journey.

What a search tries
- Split on the same train — two tickets, with the break at a station in between.
- Board earlier or get off later — a ticket from a station before yours, or through to one after it.
- A nearby terminal, or one change — another station in the same city, or two trains with a change.
Each is an ordinary IRCTC ticket. Two tickets usually cost more than one, and nothing is confirmed until IRCTC issues it. The options in detail
