How RailRoute plans a journey
RailRoute treats a journey as a sequence of legs rather than as a single train. You search an origin, a destination and a date; it shows practical ways to get there — direct trains, a change of train, and mixed train-and-flight trips — and you book the tickets yourself on IRCTC or with the airline.

RailRoute is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Indian Railways, IRCTC, or any Government of India entity. Train names and station codes are used for identification only.
RailRoute does not sell tickets and never takes a payment. Fares are estimates and seat availability changes continuously; the exact fare and the actual booking are confirmed on IRCTC.
What a search shows
- Direct trains between two places on the date you asked for.
- Journeys with one change of train, with the wait shown in minutes.
- Train and flight combinations, with time on the road between stations and airports counted.
- Other bookable options when the through train is waitlisted — a split on the same train, an earlier or later station, or a nearby terminal. When a train is sold out.
How to read the numbers
- Times are scheduled times, not predictions. Nothing here forecasts a delay.
- Seat status is a snapshot from the moment you searched. Confirm it at IRCTC before you pay. What the statuses mean.
- Fares are estimates. The fare that counts is the one IRCTC or the airline shows at checkout.
