How reliable is a RailRoute journey?
RailRoute grades how each train and flight on a journey has actually run over the past year — the share of days it arrives on time, and how late it typically is. A journey whose every leg reliably runs on time, and whose every change holds comfortably, is marked RailRoute Recommended. It is a record, not a promise.

RailRoute is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Indian Railways, IRCTC, or any Government of India entity. Train names and station codes are used for identification only.
RailRoute does not sell tickets and never takes a payment. Fares are estimates and seat availability changes continuously; the exact fare and the actual booking are confirmed on IRCTC.
What the grade means
- Reliable — usually arrives within about 15 minutes of the timetable.
- Usually on time — mostly punctual, with the occasional real delay.
- Often late — runs late often enough that you should leave buffer.
- No history yet — we haven't tracked this train or flight enough to say. We show that plainly rather than guess.
“On time” means arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
What “RailRoute Recommended” means
A journey earns it only when it is fully measured, every leg reliably runs on time, and every change holds comfortably. It is a claim from the delay record — never a paid placement, and never shown on a journey we can't fully vouch for.
What this is not
- Not a promise that your specific train will run on time today.
- Not official Indian Railways punctuality data.
- Not a guess — an untracked leg shows “no history yet”, not an invented number.
